The Creation of the Universe:
You must have heard about the 'Big Bang' theory. As a result, our universe and our planet came into being. The Holy Quraan supports this view. Science has come late to all these facts, whereas the Quraan informed mankind about them 1400 years ago.
According to the Holy Quran:
Before the existence of the present universe, earth and sky were the same thing. They were separated as a result of a huge explosion. After this explosion, the Creator of the universe said to the sky, which was in the form of smoke at that time, and to the earth:
Both of you (sky and earth) come together, whether you like it or not.
Both (the earth and the sky) have attended to this command, saying: we have attended to Your command in obedience to Your order. So in this way, different elements also came into existence, and while this process was going on, the planets and stars started cooling down gradually, the distance between them got smaller, and under the laws created by Allah Almighty, these stars and planets forms began to be defined, encompassing the entire universe. Allah the Exalted created the moon, the sun, and all the other planets and stars, each of which has its own circle (or orbit) in which they revolve. So it is Allah who created the day and night, the moon and the sun, and the entire universe. All these heavenly bodies are floating in one circle.
The Holy Quran also confirms the idea that the universe is expanding.
